The Historic Hudson Theatre Honored by the Theatre Museum
NEW YORK, NY, Ocotber 10, 2005. The Millennium Broadway's historic Hudson Theatre received the prestigious 2005 Theatre Museum Award on October 10, 2005, in honor of its excellence in Theatre History Preservation. The award was presented by the Theatre Museum, a New York non-profit museum dedicated to the history of theatre. The award recognized the amazing restoration work that was undertaken by the Millennium Broadway including the discovery and subsequent recovery of hidden Tiffany mosaics.
Per Hellman, vice president & general manager, Millennium Broadway Hotel received the award on behalf of the Millennium Broadway Hotel.
The ceremony and entertainment took place in the Hudson Theatre where attendees were among the first to see the beautiful turquoise Tiffany mosaics rediscovered during the Hudson Theatre's $2 million restoration project. In attendance also during the awards ceremony were actor, David Hyde Pierce (Frasier, Spamalot) and producers Bonnie Comley (Gypsy, Fiddler on the Roof) and Stewart Lane (Thoroughly Modern Millie, Aida).
