PORTLAND, OR, February 14, 2006. Tracy Marks has been named general manager of the 782-room Hilton Portland & Executive Tower in Portland, Oregon.
A Hilton employee for 23 years and at eight properties across the country, Marks previously served as hotel manager for the Hilton Portland since 2003.
Marks started his hospitality career with Hilton in 1982 as beverage manager at the Washington Hilton & Tower.
In 1983 he became assistant director of food and beverage at the Capital Hilton, and then in 1985 became director of food and beverage at the Greenbelt Hilton, a position he successively held at the McLean Hilton, Washington Hilton & Executive Tower and Hilton San Francisco. In 2003, he became hotel manager of the Hilton Portland & Executive Tower.
A native of Bethesda, Maryland, Marks received his bachelor of arts degree in business administration from the University of Maryland and has completed numerous professional development courses in leadership and hotel management.
Marks serves on the executive board of the Oregon Lodging Association as Treasurer and as trustee for the Oregon Restaurant Education Foundation.
He also serves on the Portland Water Coalition and Tri-County Lodging Association. Marks has been married for over twenty years and has two children.
