Marriott Names LBA Properties Award Winner

"SPIRIT TO SERVE OUR COMMUNITIES" Award

. October 14, 2008

DOTHAN, AL, May 22, 2006. LBA Properties, Inc., the Dothan, Ala.-based hotel development, management and ownership company that this year listed community service as one of its top three priorities, received Marriott International's Community Service Award this month among all Courtyard/Fairfield Inn/Residence Inn/SpringHill Suites/TownePlace Suites franchise companies.

One week after receiving the award, 20 LBA Properties employees traveled from Dothan to Huntsville, Ala., to "trade places" with LBA Properties-managed Fairfield Inn housekeeping attendant Pat Olloh by helping her clean her new Habitat for Humanity home before she and her two sons, ages 9 and 15, move in at the end of May. The corporate employees were joined by others from Huntsville's Fairfield Inn and Residence Inn, also managed by LBA.

J.W. Marriott, Jr., chairman and C.E.O. of Marriott International; and Bob McCarthy, president, North America Lodging Operations, presented Marriott's Community Service Award on May 9 to Barry Kraselsky, president and C.O.O. of LBA Properties, at Marriott's annual select-service and extended-stay Owners Conference, held at the JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort and Spa in Tucson.

According to Marriott International, the award recognizes the franchise company that best demonstrates and supports its and Marriott's values of community service through employee volunteerism, in-kind donations and overall "Spirit To Serve" initiatives.

LBA Properties and its managed portfolio of 33 hotels perform a wide variety of "acts of community giving" through the company's LBA C.A.R.E.S. (Caring Associates Ready and Empowered to Serve) community service program.
