. October 14, 2008

NEW YORK, NY, April 3, 2006. No need to eat all those colored eggs on Easter! This year, once you've found your Easter basket, hop over to Jumeirah Essex House for the hotel's special Easter Champagne Brunch.

Priced at $95 per person, Jumeirah Essex House's Easter Champagne Brunch will offer a unique take on the traditional menu at the hotel's famed Caf'e Botanica overlooking Central Park. With seating from 11:30 am to 3:00 pm, guests can begin their Easter celebration by sampling a selection of special breakfast pastries, cheese and fruit compotes. The mouthwatering raw bar, set among the intricate ice sculptures, will feature such delicacies as oysters, prawns, Alaskan crab legs and a variety of sushi. Guests can also choose to sample delectable hot dishes such as egg cocotte with lobster bolognaise and asparagus, spinach dumplings with soya sauce and curried pumpkin soup with oriental duck confit, or the roasted leg of lamb with root vegetables and potatoes from the carving station.

Champagne pairs well with any of the scrumptious Caf'e Botanica entr'ee selections, which include twists on more traditional fare -- waffles topped with caramelized bananas and vanilla ice cream and Egg Napoleon, a tomato and spinach scramble served with a baby spinach salad -- to dishes that are sure to be new favorites -- roasted rabbit served with spinach and mushrooms, mint couscous and rosemary fig glaze; herb linguini with prawn provencal ragout, fresh tomato and saffron broth; or roasted Maine cod served with potato puree and asparagus fricassee in a merlot reduction. For desert, indulge your sweet tooth with a smorgasbord of handmade chocolates, fancy cookies and Easter confections.

Jumeirah Essex House will create a special day for adults as well as children by inviting a special guest, The Easter Bunny, to add a magical touch to the day. The hotel has also created a whimsical "Harry Potter" inspired children's menu featuring a starter choice of Dumbeldore's creamy mushroom soup with croutons or Harry tomato mozzarella salad followed by kid friendly culinary options like Hermiones Favourite - crab cakes with mixed salad and Aunt Petunias Loves - chicken nuggets served with a generous side of potato wedges. And no enchanting meal would be complete without Voldemort's Endulgence for desert, a pecan chocolate mousse cake. In addition, every child will receive their own Easter basket with specially prepared chocolates and other festive goodies.
