MIAMI, FL, February 2, 2007. Renaissance Resort & Spa, celebrating 50 years as the grand dame of Miami Beach, will embark on a $110 million transformation that begins summer 2006 and completes in 2008. Architect John Nichols will masterfully execute the extensive renovation and additions to include all 349 guest rooms of the existing tower, pools and cabanas, the Spa of Eden, restaurant, meeting space, retail options, and the creation of a 20-story, 283 guest room tower.

"The vision for Eden Roc is remarkably dramatic," said Saun Lightbourne, director of marketing for the Miami Beach hotel. "We anticipate a revolutionary transformation and look forward to offering our guests and clients a sophisticated, authentic resort experience with timeless standards of service and reputation."

Each of the 349 guest rooms in the existing tower will feature new configuration, expanded five-fixture bathrooms, flat screen televisions, stylish decor and amenities. The guest room corridors and elevators will also be redone. A new 20-story, 283 guestroom tower will be constructed along the south edge of the property, and will feature sophisticated new oceanfront guest rooms, with modern finishes, luxurious bedding, plasma screen televisions, five-fixture bathroom and endless views of the Atlantic Ocean. The tower will also include a few 1,200-sq. ft. private oceanfront Miami Beach suites each with oversized balconies with private Jacuzzi, the latest technology and pampering amenities.

Meetings and events will be even more glamorous with the creation of a new 11,500-sq. ft. Miami banquet room featuring a 20-ft. glass wall overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and Intracoastal waterway and expansive open air event space that can be tented. A lush rooftop garden area with a chic 'sky' bar and guest services will be developed for the main building, perfect for private functions and social gatherings.

The main pool at the Florida beach resort will be reworked to highlight a new infinity-edge plunge pool overlooking the sparkling Atlantic Ocean. A new full-service pool bar, poolside and beachside cabanas, and recreational retail shop will be added. The second pool and deck, located above Aquatica Beach Bar & Grill will be resurfaced and enhanced with landscaping and poolside cabanas. Additional reflecting ponds and lush landscaping will also be added in the main pool area.

The Spa of Eden will be completely redone with a new 60,000-sq. ft. layout, additional treatment rooms including poolside options, expanded cardio/fitness facilities, and overall destination spa d'ecor, theming and programs. There will also be a new upscale retail shop, and the main dining room will be revamped into a signature specialty restaurant.
