Foyer Project and Life House Appoint Kate Polsky as General Manager for Philadelphia’s Hotel Anna & Bel
Hotel Anna & Bel, a boutique hotel located in Philadelphia's artistic enclave of Fishtown, is proud to announce the appointment of Kate Polsky as General Manager. Breathing a new life into the 18th century building that once served as the Penn Asylum for Indigent Widows and Single Women, the 50-key escape is a much-anticipated haven for locals and visitors alike, seamlessly combining classic and contemporary elements with vintage elegance and nods to the building's historic femininity.
Featuring an interior courtyard and heated pool reminiscent of New Orleans, intentionally designed guest rooms with custom furnishings and well-appointed kitchenettes, and public spaces designed for a social experience, the hotel was intentionally created to be an oasis in the city. Additional amenities include a robust art program by Paradigm Art Advisory, a private treatment room, where guests can book treatments with outside practitioners, a lower level fitness center featuring an infrared sauna, and a yoga and meditation deck to create a getaway for mind and body. Visitors can also enjoy two unique dining and cocktail concepts from chef and restaurateur Tyler Akin: Bastia, a coastal Mediterranean restaurant, and Caletta, Bastia's intimate sister lounge serving bright signature cocktails and small Italian bites.
A Philadelphia local, Kate Polsky joins Hotel Anna & Bel with over 10 years of experience in guest services. Polsky has worked in multiple facets of the industry, bringing expertise from positions across the Northeast to the property, with a diverse background that spans roles with brands such as the Asticou Inn and Restaurant, Roost Apartment Hotels, and the Kimpton Hotel Monaco Philadelphia. Through the course of her career, Polsky has also headed leadership and mentorship initiatives for staff of all levels, serving as an invaluable point of contact for teams of varying sizes. Her reputation for facilitating personal experiences has a proven track record of increased customer loyalty and satisfaction and has been pivotal in securing repeat business for brands under her oversight. As General Manager of Hotel Anna & Bel, Polsky will be integral in spearheading the heavily anticipated launch and bringing the spirit of the property to life.
"The team is thrilled to have Kate join the team," says Dor Berkovitz, Co-Founder and Managing Partner at Foyer Project, the real estate development firm and ownership behind the hotel. "She embodies the welcoming and sophisticated nature of Hotel Anna & Bel while also bringing experience and industry insights that make her the perfect fit to help guide the opening of the hotel."
